Kairi felt her legs give out underneath her as she collapsed against the hard ground. This was going to be it—just up ahead, the Heartless monster that she had been fighting and making angry was going to devour her completely, and all that she’d been fighting for… what would happen? Would Sora and Riku be okay? 

Don’t be afraid! Just sleep for a while. Your strength will be reborn very soon. 

Her shoulders slouched forward and the Keyblade felt heavy in her hands—maybe a nap would be nice. Her eyelids fell forward as the beast rampaged towards her, slobbering horrible blackness that collected in pools as it came ever closer, nearer to the end for her, and—

"Don’t you dare touch her heart!”

The Heartless was thrown back with a blast of light that stunned it completely, leaving it shaking its head. Namine stood up tall from where Kairi had been kneeling just moments before, and the chains that she had once manipulated, the memories that she had so carefully unchained and linked back together, held the Keyblade close to this tired body that would not otherwise accept it as its master.

“So long as I am a part of her heart, you will not touch her!” The witch cried, summoning up all of the magic within herself to both heal the exhausted Princess and to do her part to vanquish the evil dragon. 

(Bonus idea in this train of thought: When Kairi’s been revived and Namine goes back into her heart, Kairi should have a temporary MP boost, or be able to use MP without consuming any for a while—since Namine’s a witch, after all. Kairi has to be the one who uses a finishing attack, not Namine, but Kairi acknowledges that Namine’s power was used, and thanks her for it.)
